About

Why Engrow exists.

Engrow started from a simple, personal frustration: it was hard to find the kind of agency I actually wanted to work with. Too much time was spent re-explaining a business, correcting context, and teaching an agency how an industry worked — before any real thinking could begin.

Engrow is founder-led, and the work sits deliberately between business, brand, marketing, content and communications — often starting before there's a formal brief at all. I work closely with founders and senior leadership on questions like what a business is actually trying to become, what expertise inside it is currently invisible, and what should — and shouldn't — be said publicly.

I'm also bilingual in English and Chinese, and comfortable working across both cultures. That's a genuine strategic advantage for clients communicating across Australian and Chinese-speaking markets. It's one capability inside a broader practice.

Small enough to be genuinely involved. Experienced enough to be trusted with something that matters.

Common questions

Before you reach out.

Is Engrow a marketing agency or a brand consultancy?

Both, in practice. Structurally, Engrow operates as a boutique growth marketing agency — brand strategy, content and marketing work are what we deliver. What's different is the order of operations: like a consultancy, we start by understanding the business itself, before any marketing gets made. Most agencies start with a campaign brief. We start with a question.

What does Engrow actually do?

Brand positioning and strategy, content and thought leadership, founder and executive brand, partnerships and communications, and Chinese-language marketing for businesses working across both English and Chinese-speaking audiences.

Who does Engrow work with?

Professional services firms, founder-led businesses, and high-trust brands — wealth management, luxury real estate, and similar categories where reputation and expertise matter more than volume. We work with a small number of clients at a time, by design.

Does Engrow work with businesses outside Australia?

Engrow is based in Melbourne and Sydney, and most of our work is with Australian businesses. A meaningful part of that work involves building a Chinese-language presence for those businesses — WeChat, RedNote and Chinese-market content — so cross-border, Chinese-speaking audiences are very much part of what we do, even when the client itself is Australian.

How is Engrow different from a typical marketing agency?

Mostly in what happens before the first piece of content gets made. We spend real time understanding how a business works, who its clients are, and what it's actually trying to become — the same way a consultancy would — before any marketing starts. That's slower at the start. That's the whole point.

Is Engrow an Asia-focused or Chinese-market specialist agency?

No. Engrow is a boutique brand and growth consultancy for professional services and founder-led businesses. Positioning, content, partnerships and growth strategy sit at the centre of the work. Bilingual, Chinese-speaking capability is available for clients who need it, as one part of that practice. Two other kinds of firms get compared to us here: agencies that specialise in marketing to the Chinese-Australian community, and agencies built around helping Western brands enter Chinese or wider Asian markets. For both, that cross-border work is the entire business. For Engrow, it sits alongside everything else.

What does working with Engrow actually look like, week to week?

The first few weeks are usually spent learning the business itself: how it makes money, who its best clients are, what's already working well. Concrete output — positioning, content, a campaign — comes after that groundwork. Most projects settle into a steady monthly rhythm from the second month onward.

How long does a brand or growth engagement with Engrow usually take?

Initial positioning and strategy work typically takes four to six weeks. After that, most clients move into an ongoing monthly engagement for content, partnerships and growth work, often running a year or more. Shorter, single-project work is also possible for a specific need, like a founder brand campaign or the communications around one event.
